The Super Bowl can be considered one of the biggest events in America. It is usually celebrated with parties lasting throughout the day with lots of food and excitement. The Super Bowl on Feb. 2, 2020 between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49’ers was entertaining, especially with the unanticipated 21 point comeback in the 4th quarter. During the Super Bowl, many people enjoyed foods specially made for game day.
The classic foods people would eat are pizza, chicken wings and chips, otherwise known as“finger foods.” These types of foods do not need utensils, making them easy to eat, especially during the Super Bowl, when all eyes are glued to the game watching every play. It is much easier to watch the game when the food is not taking up any attention.
During the Super Bowl, junior Dylan Tu celebrated the Super Bowl by eating chips, salsa, burger patties and cakes, the typical game night food. However, he also made ribs for the night due to his friend’s request. While ribs are not a typical Super Bowl game food, it is still considered one of the many enjoyable finger foods. On the other hand, junior Nolan Soto, celebrated by eating “boneless and bone-in chicken wings” that his father had made.
Overall, the Super Bowl is an event that people can enjoy with family and friends, eating foods that are able to keep their hands free to cheer and mouths to shout. While these featured foods are only some of the foods that were eaten, the main purpose of game night foods is to celebrate the time spent with family and friends while rooting for their team to win the Super Bowl.
